What is ExoveyDataSync?

This text is a draft and needs legal review before going live.

ExoveyDataSync is Exovey’s automated reader (bot) for public fair information. If you see it on your site, this page explains what it reads, how to stop it and how to ask for removal.

What does it read?

• Exhibitor lists published by fair organisers: company name, stand and website. • Company role addresses (e.g. info@, sales@) written openly on an exhibitor’s own website, on the home and contact pages. The address must be on the site’s own domain.

What does it never do?

• It does not store addresses that contain a person’s name. • It does not guess addresses or query your mail server. • It does not fill in forms, open pages behind a login or try to bypass a CAPTCHA. • It never e-mails an address by itself. Addresses are reviewed by a person; sending also needs consent or a legal basis and an İYS check.

How often does it visit?

It follows robots.txt on every site, waits several seconds between requests, reads only a few pages per site and returns to the same site after 90 days at the earliest.

How do I stop it?

Add these lines to your robots.txt and ExoveyDataSync will not read your site:

User-agent: ExoveyDataSync
Disallow: /

How do I ask for removal?

Write your domain to [email protected]. We delete the addresses read from your site and add your domain to our do-not-collect list.
